"Having the gardens seem to provide a common awareness and interest for many that visit the campus. It sparks conversation with strangers that want to learn about the gardens which provides an opportunity to engage and inform. I also think the gardens provide a calming element to the campus which is a benefit to students and staff."

My favorite activity is "teaching my photography students as well as anyone on campus that will listen, that in Central Texas we live in the Monarchs migration path and why we should assist and create habitat to assist in their phenomenal journey."
